Tranquility Bay Snorkeling Adventure
This is a great day on the water. Cruise out to the famous "Mexico Rocks" directly in front of our Resort. Our guide will navigate you through this favorite snorkel site to view the famous coral heads through our Glass Bottom Boat so you can preview what's in store should you venture out to snorkel by kayak later in the week. We continue north for a scenic ride that will take you to "Habaneros" where we drop anchor for a great snorkeling adventure. Then it's back on the boat for a short cruise through "Basil Jones Channel" to the very tip of the Reef and our next stop. Tranquility Bay. Enjoy more great snorkeling in the shallows between the beach and the reef before heading home for a well deserved lunch.

Caye Caulker Adventure
Spend a day at our sister Island: Caye Caulker. We will depart Costa Maya Reef Resort at 9:00 am and will return from a fantastic day at 3:00 pm. Your adventure will start with a boat ride over to Caye Caulker and along the way we will spot Sea Turtles, Dolphins, Spotted Eagle Rays and many different islets. You will learn about the mangrove and its purpose, the bird nesting areas behind our sister island and the history of the split of Caye Caulker. Then we will have lunch at the Key and after lunch you will have free time to shop or wander around.

TOURS IN BELIZE
River Cave Tubing and Belize Zoo/Tropical Education Center
Depart from the Costa Maya dock, bright and early at 6:45 am.
Your exciting adventure begins aboard an opened-bow speed boat to Belize City ( approx. 45 minutes). You will be greeted in Belize City and will travel by vehicle along the Western Highway for 30 miles to the renowned Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center, a personal favorite of Harrison Ford. The zoo houses only indigenous animals to this region in their natural habitat and also serves as a rehabilitation centre.
Following your experience at the zoo, you will enjoy a traditional Belizean lunch. After lunch you will arrive at the Caves Branch Reserve where you will circumnavigate by hiking in and floating out. Your guide will take you along a jungle path up to the cave entrance. During your hike the guide will point out indigenous flora and fauna, keep an eye out for animals too. It is then time to put on your head lamps and splash into the cool water with your own inner-tube. Relax and enjoy your float through extensive caves systems, a sacred place where the famous Mayan people once worshipped (Xibalba). There are incredible limestone and crystal formations to observe. Once at the bottom of the river you can change into dry clothes and begin your trip back to the resort, returning to the Costa Maya dock at approximately 6:00 pm.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley

A perfect afternoon of sun, sea and fun leaving Costa Maya at 1:30 pm.
You will leave the resort and head south towards the famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Your first snorkel stop will be at the reserve where you will enjoy a guided exploration of the luscious coral gardens; the guides always find something unique to show you. If you are a diver you have the opportunity for a one tank dive at the reserve. After leaving the reserve you will head to Shark Ray Alley.
Our skilled guides will attract the rays and sharks close to you and the boat. You may be lucky enough to pet them and have some great photo opportunities. Heading home our captain often sees some amazing wildlife, so keep your eyes open! Arrive back on our dock at approximately 4:30 pm.

Fishing, Snorkeling & Beach BBQ
This day of sun, fun, and sea begins at 10:00 am.
Once aboard the boat you will make numerous stops near the famous barrier reef to fish and snorkel. This tour will teach you the real meaning of 'catch of the day', as the fish caught during the morning will be prepared by the guides for your lunch. You will come back to Costa Maya Reef Resort for a dip in the pool, relax on the beach, and enjoy your fresh fish BBQ.
After lunch you will head out for your last snorkel stop at Mexico Rocks and return to Costa Maya at approximately 4:00 pm.

Lamanai Jungle River Adventure
This full day adventure begins with a light breakfast aboard the boat as you travel towards Belize City.
Once in the city you will travel by vehicle into the Orange Walk district to Tower Hill. At Tower Hill you will board another boat to begin you journey through the New River. As you make your way towards Lamanai you will encounter a rich variety of bird life, crocodiles, turtles, bats, monkeys and orchids. Once you reach Lamanai you will be served a local lunch and refreshments.

The exploring now begins of the longest occupied site in the history of the Mundo Maya. Lamanai had a residence of approximately 40,000 and its occupation lasted over 3000 years. At the end of the day you will travel back to San Pedro and return to Costa Maya at approximately 5:30 pm.

Your day of adventure begins at Costa Maya jumping aboard a speed boat heading across the inner lagoon towards the mainland and the Northern River bar mouth. As you travel up the exotic river you will have plentiful photo opportunities as your guide points outs a rich variety of birds, indigenous animals, and orchids. At the quaint "village" of Bomba, you will board a private bus and travel 8 miles, passing through several other small villages. First stop, the ancient temple city of Altun Ha. This rich ceremonial center consists of two main plazas in its ritual precinct.
After a fully guided tour of the ruins and if you choose, a climb to the top, you are introduced to the
Maruba Jungle Spa and Resort for an exotic lunch. After enjoying lunch you will have time to take a dip in the refreshing pool or take a leisurely horseback ride. For those who would rather be pampered, they can choose from a selection of spa treatments including massages, facials, and mud baths. To conclude this very refreshing and low impact excursion, you make your way back to the resort arriving at approximately 5:30 pm.

Xunantunich Mayan Ruins & River Cave Tubing
Begin your day aboard a swift boat ride leaving Costa Maya at 6:45 am.
Once you reach Belize City you will travel 60 miles by vehicle into the Cayo District. Once at Xunantunich you will disembark the vehicle and board a hand-crank ferry across the Mopan River. Xunantunich is located on the western most border of Belize. From the site you can view both the Guatemalan countryside as well as the dense Belizean forest. Xunantunich dates back to the Classic period and had a residence of approximately 20,000.
After a guided tour of the ruins you will depart and head east stopping along the way for a
